Silly Silly YuriOtani....When will you ever grow up...

mindovermatter at 05:35 AM JST - 27th November

sir and my ancestors were innocent. Then again the mainlanders are not responsible for the actions of their ancestors.

But unless You, They learn from your ancestor's past, i.e.... REAL non-white-washed History, You, They, are sure to repeat it...

Not for a split second does anyone, actually think, You YuriOtani, were responsible for unit-731, or the dozens of other atrocities, but you need to know, learn from the past, or you are sure to repeat it...

You just can't continue on with this mentality of an 8-year old spoiled brat, whose only answer to every question is, "Well, America did it too."

No we didn't, and please start acting like adults, Take some responsibility for YOUR own actions... The reason the rest of asia Hates Japan, is because of this righteous attitude, that everything is somebody else's fault...

Have a nice day, and as always, You are welcome for your freedom, it's no coincidence, Japan looks the way it does today, and not like N.Korea, because of the beautiful present you received from Me and MY forefather's, who died to give it to you... You're Welcome!

Silly Kids....

mindovermatter at 10:55 AM JST - 30th October

@OssanAmerica

What planet do you live on? It has alot to do with "us". Japanese control of the islands keeps China's territorial expansion in the East China Sea in check, a manouver they are pulling to challenge he U.S. 7th Fleet. China's "disputes" with Vietnamn, Phillipines all are part of China's agenda of controlling the sealanes that supply the democratic Asian nations with oil. All these nations are relying on "us" to provide a counter balance to China's militrary threat. Which "us" are you refering to?

Oh, so according to your logic, the u.s. should go along with Japan's claim of the "Kuril Islands" island as well..? Oh, and let's not forget the "Dokdo" islands too... Oh, but let's not stop there, there are probably half a dozen other islands that Japan makes some claim against...

I am NO big Fan of China, but the U.S. needs to stay the Hell out of these kind of petty disputes... We sure as hell didn't do much, when Japan had a REAL problem, with North Korea abducting people...

This is a problem Japan needs to come to terms with, they've made their bed, over the last 65 years, and now they need to deal with these neighbors. I am not even going to get started on the reasons Japanese feel so strongly about these islands... If you've lived in Japan for any matter of time, Japan not only distorts history, but has encouraged the sentiment that Japan was a Victim of WW2...

And When you've actually served your country, then you can make statements about it... Are you another, "Dick Cheney," 5 deferment, "Chicken-Hawk...?" Have you actually served, or are you just saying, Do as I say, not as I do...?

Nagoya UNSOLVED murder - Foreigner stabbed by Yakuza

mindovermatter at 11:23 AM JST - 10th October

forcibly hugging and kissing a 24-year-old female employee

With all the problems Japan has, they're going waste time going after somebody, that they already cleared once, for forcibly hugging and kissing...

Aren't there more than a few unsolved murder cases floating around...?

Haven't heard word one about that foreigner that was stabbed to death in Nagoya over road rage with some Yakuza a year ago...

Or is that too difficult to solve...? There were only half a dozen witnesses, seeing how it happened at 2pm in the afternoon...

JapanToday is ENTERTAINMENT, NOT NEWS..

mindovermatter at 07:11 PM JST - 7th October

And their bosses did not know? Bull.

Everyone involved was arrested..

If you read a REAL news source / site, they tell you REAL details.. Everyone, from the police chief, to the guy passing out the drugs, who was involved, was arrested... I can't believe people read JT an think it's REAL news... It's ENTERTAINMENT and CENSURED ENTERTAINMENT at that...

So if they don't agree with your comments, they delete them...

If The Japanese Government was really doing their job, you would have heard of hundreds of these types of raids, against their own corrupt City Police Departments... The ones that look the other way, while the Yakuza thrives right under their noses, in broad daylight.

Sorry Fishy...! Wrong again!

  • mindovermatter at 08:02 PM JST - 23rd September

    @fishy

    wrong. 防衛省によりますと、アメリカ兵が日本で起こした事件や事故に対する賠償は、日米地位協定に基づいて、 防衛省とアメリカ軍が公務中かどうかを協議し、公務中でないと判断された場合には、 アメリカ軍があらためて賠償額を決めて支払うということです。

According to the Ministry of Defense, when the serviceman was not on duty at the time of the incident, the U.S. government will finalize the amount of money and pay. It is most likely less than 50 million yen, but will see how much it will be.

You would probably be better served by NOT believing everything you read on "Wikipedia," since anyone and their brother can edit those pages, and typically does...

I know what the SOFA agreement states, and that's a matter of public record. Whatever you read on JT, isn't worth the fonts it's printed in...

JapanToday is for ENTERTAINMENT purposes only...

It's like watching the FOX news of Japan...

Now, I cannot say, how much the Japanese Government is going to end up paying, In the Name of the dirt-bag, but it wouldn't surprise me if they paid the 50-million yen, and said the U.S. government did...

  • mindovermatter at 08:16 PM JST - 23rd September

    @fishy

Oh, and there was a case a year ago or so, just to show you, how the gavel comes down on these kinds of issues, if you remember those kids at Yokota that stretched that line across a street and that lady riding a moped ended up in a coma... Well, that's a clear cut case, in which the U.S. does pay, because those kids are NOT treated the same under the SOFA as military, there exists NO SUCH THING for dependents as a "DUTY-RELATED" incident.

So accordingly the parents were totally liable, NOT the U.S., but the parents... I think the Military ended up forking out some big money, but that's only because those parents will get stuck with the bill.

As far as this Nigerian thug, No they won't see a penny from Uncle Sam, as I mentioned before, I am sure the base paid some token money to help the family with burial arrangements, etc... But they won't pay a dime for a civil judgment, that's all on Mr.Nigerian Thug...and perhaps the JN government...

Hello 8-year old YuriOtani!

mindovermatter at 11:49 AM JST - 11th September

YuriOtani

Well what will China do if their "demands" are not met? We are ready and waiting for you.

What are you like 8 years old...?

Welcome to Japan, a country of total and unconditional "Victim-Hood," a country with 100 million, 8-year olds, masquerading as adults...

Japanese are always in pursuit of class

mindovermatter at 01:00 PM JST - 28th August

Japanese are always in pursuit of class though

That may be a "Bridge too far," You'd better stick to a more realistic and desperately needed goal, like "Common Sense," but that for Japanese, may be easier said than done.

Roos' attendance at Hiroshima A-bomb memorial draws mixed reaction

mindovermatter at 10:21 AM JST - 7th August

‘‘He didn’t pay even a floral tribute."

Ok, where's all the memorials dedicated to the victims of Japan's war of aggression...? Take a trip to Germany, you'll see plenty of memorials dedicated to the victims of "Their" aggression, in Japan, all you see if memorials to themselves, not one memorial dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Chinese they killed in Nanking, or the other hundred of so well-documented, atrocities committed by the Japanese Army, under the direction of their government... Only memorials to themselves..

You're lucky you got any representative at all to visit that memorial, you're never going to get an apology. For God's sake, you were training school-kids and old-lady's to attack the U.S. soldiers with bamboo spears, fight to the last person.

Japan really needs to look in the mirror and stop this crazy "Victim-Hood" mentality... Japan couldn't have turned out better today, if they had planned it. The U.S. gave you your freedom, democracy, and put you on the road to being a wealthy capitalist society.

It's just a coincidence that South Korea is also doing well... Oh, but not there neighbor, North Korea.

You are welcome for your 60+ years of freedom, prosperity and safety, courtesy of the U.S. Military.

The role that the U.S. military plays in Japan and the region cannot be understated

mindovermatter at 11:23 AM JST - 24th July

@prinzjay

The Japanese do not deserve a free ride or a free lunch when at this level of the game. They dont even want to step up to plate

Spot on!

They want their cake, and they want to eat it too...

What they pay through taxes to host U.S. forces in Japan, is peanuts, compared to what it would cost them... Not only that, the money they pay, stays in Japan, they aren't buying fighter planes, or ships for the U.S., they are paying money that is in a closed loop system, it either goes to Japanese contractors, MLC employees, Utility companies...

It's like paying for someone's room in a hotel, that you own.

I'll bet 99.999% of these people posting have no idea how good of a deal Japan has gotten out of the U.S. in the last 60-plus years... They want foreigners in Japan, only for the money, and if they could figure out a way to close up Japan's borders to foreigners out and keep foreign money coming in, they would do it tomorrow. Not everyone, but enough people here have been brainwashed by these history re-writers, they actually believe Japan was a victim of WW2, Think I'm joking...?

You want to know what life would be like if the U.S. hadn't of given you democracy, Capitalism and freedom, just take a look at how good they have it in N.Korea...

It's just a coincidence that South Korea has such a good quality of life, and they were also set up for success, and protected by the U.S.

And you're welcome Japan!

What an Idiot you are..."James Hadfield!"

mindovermatter at 11:16 AM JST - 11th July

First of all, You're an idiot...

Second of all, Japan clown-Cops are all idiots too...

We all know, bicycle riders are the main crime in Japan...(¬_¬)

Never mind, those Bozo's with the motorcycles and 1500cc Mopeds, shooting in and out of traffic, running red lights, and running 100+kph down residential streets...

I'm sofa, and after my first encounter with those clown cops, I now produce my Military ID, and say, "I can call the military police right now..." "What do you want to do guy...?"

And every single time, they put their heads down and wave me on my way...

What a corrupt and irrelevant bunch of kids masquerading as adult police officers... Good luck Japan...

Until you start voting these idiots out of office, who make the decisions regarding these clown cops, You are stuck!

Ban on off-base drinking after midnight imposed on U.S. military in Okinawa

mindovermatter at 09:38 AM JST - 13th June

Ban on off-base drinking after midnight imposed on U.S. military in Okinawa

Good! They should have did this a long time ago... And it should a ban on ALL Drinking Off-Base, period...

Then next time, one of those racist natives gets their teeth knocked out, for starting a fight with a Marine, they won't have any reason or recourse... Because you take the Alcohol out of the equation and you better be able to prove the american started it, or else the CO of that base will tell the J-Cops to kiss-his white butt... Because SELF-DEFENSE is ALLOWED... I'd bet 100% of those guys who got arrested in Okinawa in the past, were drunk... And as far as the Military is concerned, you are automatically guilt as charged, if you have any bit of alcohol in your system...PERIOD... It's been that way for 40 years.... No trial, no jury, no investigation, if you were drinking, you are AUTOMATICALLY 100% at fault... take em away j-cops...

Good, I am waiting to see Okinawans lose their reason / probable cause to have some jar-heads arrested... I'll bet Okinawans will be on their best behavior now... After they find out, that the marines are allowed to defend themselves... Not to mention, that eliminating the alcohol, will also eliminate 99.99% of the trouble-maker marines...

@mikehuntez - sorry JapanToday, you can't delete this post...!

mindovermatter at 07:31 PM JST - 12th June

@mikehuntez

You people are blinded by your rage against Japan for doing limited whaling and calling it research so you just can't accept that Sea Nazis are wrong. Well at least Pete B can ponder this in jail. The rest of you go back to your daily lives and ponder this. Maybe if you join the Sea Nazis you can go along next year and make your own decisions about how "correct" they are.

I don't know what you're smoking...? But doing drugs in Japan is Illegal... You should be careful, or you'll end up in a jail cell next to this whale activist...

I am NOT condoning this Wacko-Nutjob's actions in the least bit, but if you haven't taken notice, He was apprehended, within a couple hundred miles of HIS OWN COUNTRY... Thousands of miles away from Japan, matter of fact, not even in the same Hemisphere...

This is Japan, feeling it's oats... Even the U.S. would have turned over this wacko back to his own country, as the u.s. military regularly does when they take trips to that part of of the world... These green-peace wackos try to ram their ships against anything nuclear, even aircraft carriers, AND NOT ONLY within the jurisdiction of New Zealand or Australia... happens all the time... Matter of fact, the only time, the U.S. doesn't turn over suspects, back to their originating country is when their activities involve terrorism... It's pretty cut-n-dry...

Now you have Japan, because it likes hunting whales in that part of the world, all of a sudden, seeing what it can get away with.... Oh, let's just brand these green-peace guys as Terrorist...

NOT QUITE...!

I am waiting to see what happens if they try to take some Americans... Good luck with that Japan.. And thank god for the SOFA... Keeping, the racist element within Japan at bay and away from the mob mentality of 12 year olds, which it can quickly return to, at the drop of a hat... Been here 30 years... I don't know everything about japan, but there's not much I haven't seen... Japan has a long way to go... And if you think for one instant, that Japan is a developed country... You are smoking crack...

Spot on sarcasm123!

  • sarcasm123 at 12:07 PM JST - 9th May

And it does not matter what "the Japanese" did.

Uh??? I matters 100%. If the Japanese had not done whatthey did they would not have been bombed. How can you say it doesn't matter?? The US did not bomb - say - Canada, as Canadians did not aggressively invade half of Asia. The Japanese did, hence they got bombed. So, what "the Japanese" did, DOES matter.

Neither the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki nor the people behind this museum are "the Japanese".

Can you tell me about people from Hiroshima and Nagasaki at that time protesting against the actions their country did? No, you can't, because they didn't. They supported it, along with > 99% of all other Japanese.

Its really not that hard to understand is it? You don't shoot Jack's wife and child for what Jack did. You shoot Jack.

How does this apply on Japan"s actions? Jack (the US) starts some embargos on Japan, so Japan invades Jack's wife (Asia). Are you trying to tell us that Japan was any better than the US? Again, if Japan had not done what it did, it wouldn't have gotten bombed.

The denial of other Japanese is irrelevant.

It is VERY relevant. The Japanese are on track to FORGET everything, except the things where they were the victims. In 50 years their view on history will be like this: "We Japansese were doing nothing wrong, when suddenly those bad Americans came and dropped 2 bombs on our cities, without any warning". You might not oppose to such views, but I can assure you that I and many others do.

Do I feel bad for the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Yes. But, do I feel more bad for the victims of the Japanese actions? Yes. Do I feel the bombs were justified? If it helps reducing the total number of vicimts of the cruel Japanese actions, by all means: YES. The actions of the Japanese are the cause of their suffering. Don't twist the logical flow of the events.

That statements by yahoos in black vans is irrelevant.

The Japanese people as a whole do not seem to oppose the yahoos in black vans.

    The government textbooks are irrelevant.

The Japanese people as a whole do not seem to mind that their govenment is rewriting history.

Japan is supposed to be a democracy. What the people want shall be done. So, apparently, the Japanese as a whole want to rewrite history, and forget all about the bad things Japan did, while keeping everyone around the world reminded of the A-bombs.

Totally and absolutely irrelevant, contrived and hypocritical.

HYPOCRITICAL?? WHO is hypocritical? The Japanese are. It is the Japanese who whine on and on about being bombed, while not mentioning a word (yes, even denying) everything they did.

You cannot justify the murder of innocent civilians because of what a guilty military did!

Again, can you tell me a few people from Hiroshima and Nagasaki who opposed the actions of the Japanese military? I will be kind to you: I will be even happy if you can tell me about some group in Hiroshima and Nagasaki opposing them NOW, not at the time.

You can't. There are none. They are completely silent on the subject. And you are calling ME hypocritical.

They just want the horror of the A-bombs recognized to ensure that it does not happen again.

Yes, you are right. They want the horros of the A-bombs, AND ONLY THE A-BOMBS, recognized.

  • mindovermatter at 12:32 PM JST - 9th May

    @MistWizard

First of all, NO ONE is saying the bombings were a GREAT thing to do... It's an unfortunate act that Japan, brought upon itself. It was given numerous opportunities to end the conflict, long before, it came to that... So you might say, that spirit of "Ganko" ultimately caused the Japanese people to suffer. It was the END of a war, NOT the beginning of the hundreds of attacks that Japan perpetrated on the rest of asia.

It Ended a War and prevented a costly ground invasion, for Americans AND THE JAPANESE... PERIOD!

And If you want to throw out this argument, because, you didn't know how evil Japan was...? Ha ha ha... It's like, "We'll as far as you knew, we were innocent..." Huh...?

I am not going to spend a lot of time trying to convince you, there's a say, "There's no use in arguing with a fool."

Here's some good reading for you! http://www.nytimes.com/1995/08/17/opinion/17iht-edsteve.t.html

BTW: where's the museums in Japan dedicated to their victims in Asia...? I don't remember seeing any memorials to the hundreds of thousands of Chinese, Philippino's, and the other asians that Japan killed...?

Japan displeased by U.S. paper column calling Hatoyama 'loopy'

mindovermatter at 09:18 PM JST - 16th April

What you all have missed here is that the

Balh, blah, blah, blah....

Not this same, oh... "We are the victims Japanese Remember...???"

I can't remember how many times I've heard Japanese leaders, politicians, foreign ministers, Japanese press, etc... Talk smack about how the U.S. did such and such, and that american leader "Insert Name" is all screwed up, and this kind of rhetoric is circulated, on a weekly, if not daily basis inside of Japan... The only thing, nobody in the U.S. really gives a damn about what some racist oyaji in Japan said about so and so.... So it dies a quiet death, nobody listens to this BS rhetoic...

Oh, but don't give us a taste of our own medicine... Probably because the Washington post has more readers in two or three large cities, than any japanese scandal tabloid could ever wish to have...

Come on guys... It's grow up time...! Time to start recognizing International laws, International human rights, ending racial discrimination and getting on board with REAL UN-White-Washed History... Japanese kids today, really need to know what your country did 60 years ago, and all the good america did for you... And more importantly what they didn't do... Like the 60 years of utter slavery and torture that you Japanese Perpetrated on nearly every one of your asian neighbors... But instead, you were given, democracy, womens rights, a booming capitalistic system, and the last time I looked, Japan doesn't look anything like North Korea... Which is what it would have, had the U.S. let russia take half of Japan...

So bottom line guys, Grow-Up and respect the people that gave YOU so much! You are welcome for your freedom! Please enjoy it, but please remember where and how you got it! (Hint: by the grace of OUR American forefathers)

Japan wasn't, but citizens of Hiroshima were. Uncontrolled anger is also evil. Fighting against evil does not necessarily make one "good side." America wasn't really "good."

mindovermatter at 10:16 AM JST - 4th April

Japan wasn't, but citizens of Hiroshima were. Uncontrolled anger is also evil. Fighting against evil does not necessarily make one "good side." America wasn't really "good."

Here we go again...

This is must be the standard line that all Japanese are taught to use, when confronted with any facts of history, that don't show Japan as a Victim...

"Oh, well America did it too!"

No.... America never invaded and killed 300,000 people in Nankin, innocent civilians, there isn't any comparison at all.

And Unless you are 85+ years old, it's highly unlikely YOU, "Kumasan" participated in any of these atrocities, and no one is blaming you, but what the world really needs to hear from Japan, and people like you, is that you understand what happened 60+ years ago, so that it will never happen again...!

No...This kid, this boy, is just a fricken kid... another one of the 120 million boys and girls that reside here... Their biological age and appearance may change, but their mentality and level of maturity will remain largely unchanged from age 8 until age 70...

your assertion that the 'majority' of Japanese people needed these things.

Not only is it TRUE, Fxxx yea, it's true... Sorry, if you are one of the 120 million Japanese, much like the Kakapo Parrot, the Japanese Person, "The ancient, flightless Kakapo is the world's rarest and strangest parrot" and so are the average Japanese..."
