Good! They should have did this a long time ago... And it should a ban on ALL Drinking Off-Base, period...

Then next time, one of those racist natives gets their teeth knocked out, for starting a fight with a Marine, they won't have any reason or recourse... Because you take the Alcohol out of the equation and you better be able to prove the american started it, or else the CO of that base will tell the J-Cops to kiss-his white butt... Because SELF-DEFENSE is ALLOWED... I'd bet 100% of those guys who got arrested in Okinawa in the past, were drunk... And as far as the Military is concerned, you are automatically guilt as charged, if you have any bit of alcohol in your system...PERIOD... It's been that way for 40 years.... No trial, no jury, no investigation, if you were drinking, you are AUTOMATICALLY 100% at fault... take em away j-cops...

Good, I am waiting to see Okinawans lose their reason / probable cause to have some jar-heads arrested... I'll bet Okinawans will be on their best behavior now... After they find out, that the marines are allowed to defend themselves... Not to mention, that eliminating the alcohol, will also eliminate 99.99% of the trouble-maker marines...

You people are blinded by your rage against Japan for doing limited whaling and calling it research so you just can't accept that Sea Nazis are wrong. Well at least Pete B can ponder this in jail. I am NOT condoning this Wacko-Nutjob's actions in the least bit, but if you haven't taken notice, He was apprehended, within a couple hundred miles of HIS OWN COUNTRY... Thousands of miles away from Japan, matter of fact, not even in the same Hemisphere...

This is Japan, feeling it's oats... Even the U.S. would have turned over this wacko back to his own country, as the u.s. military regularly does when they take trips to that part of of the world... These green-peace wackos try to ram their ships against anything nuclear, even aircraft carriers, AND NOT ONLY within the jurisdiction of New Zealand or Australia... happens all the time... Matter of fact, the only time, the U.S. doesn't turn over suspects, back to their originating country is when their activities involve terrorism... It's pretty cut-n-dry...
