Sorry Fishy...! Wrong again!

    wrong.

According to the Ministry of Defense, when the serviceman was not on duty at the time of the incident, the U.S. government will finalize the amount of money and pay. It is most likely less than 50 million yen, but will see how much it will be.

You would probably be better served by NOT believing everything you read on "Wikipedia," since anyone and their brother can edit those pages, and typically does...

I know what the SOFA agreement states, and that's a matter of public record. Whatever you read on JT, isn't worth the fonts it's printed in...

JapanToday is for ENTERTAINMENT purposes only...

It's like watching the FOX news of Japan...

Now, I cannot say, how much the Japanese Government is going to end up paying, In the Name of the dirt-bag, but it wouldn't surprise me if they paid the 50-million yen, and said the U.S. government did...

Oh, and there was a case a year ago or so, just to show you, how the gavel comes down on these kinds of issues, if you remember those kids at Yokota that stretched that line across a street and that lady riding a moped ended up in a coma... Well, that's a clear cut case, in which the U.S. does pay, because those kids are NOT treated the same under the SOFA as military, there exists NO SUCH THING for dependents as a "DUTY-RELATED" incident.

So accordingly the parents were totally liable, NOT the U.S., but the parents... I think the Military ended up forking out some big money, but that's only because those parents will get stuck with the bill.

As far as this Nigerian thug, No they won't see a penny from Uncle Sam, as I mentioned before, I am sure the base paid some token money to help the family with burial arrangements, etc... But they won't pay a dime for a civil judgment, that's all on Mr.Nigerian Thug...and perhaps the JN government...
